V-process sand molding casting is a true cross-over process that uses a mold made using a vacuum molded fine sand. Buchanan Sales represents Harmony Castings as our V-process sand molding provider. They are one of only a handful of U.S. foundries that use this process.**Might need more here*

V-process sand molding castings are poured in 356 aluminum only and heat-treated to a T-5 or T-6. Quantities are typically from 10 to 3,000 EAU. Unlike conventional sand casting, metal can be poured into thinner walls and a good surface finish comes as a result of the fine sand used in the mold. Zero draft is attainable for V-process molds, which also gives it an edge over conventional sand molds. Tooling produced by V-process molds are made from composite material, which makes for an less expensive patterns with a faster lead time. The turn around time is generally 3-4 weeks and complete machined casting is available.
